You expect people to watch Pompeii sober??
FWIW my drunk post wasn't that far off from what I post sober.

You can't blame him. Everybody's got a price.

Walder Frey is so gross . Hate him. Hope he dies a horrible death but GRRM will probably have him die while in coitus with wife #20 who will probably be only 14 years old.
Also, I saw this meme in my newsfeed as I was contemplating what to break my fast with:
Oh and Hodor DJing again :

If she has read all 5 books, she wouldn't be a "Hodor", no?
I think you guys are being a bit hard on Dany. She isn't my favorite character by any means, but GRRM has always said that this series is about power and learning how to rule. Dany literally started from scratch. She has this destiny that she was never prepared for, and an eventually powerful weapon that she has no idea how to control. Most people around her have betrayed her at some point, and like her or not, it is a difficult decision to leave thousands of people to die.

Spot on. I've said before in this thread that it would be kinda unbelievable if a 14 yr old girl just gathers an army and 3 baby dragons then crosses the Narrow Sea and wipes out all the badass armies in Westeros.
Her story had/has to stay where she is to show how she develops as a leader and for her dragons to grow. Is it boring? Somewhat. Do I like it? Naw. But is it necessary? Absolutely

I agree to an extent that she needs to test her ruling skills...BUT, is there any point in having Daario??
Posted on 2/23/14 at 11:35 am to ladytiger118
You mean other than trying to contend with Cersei for the title Queen of the Whores?
Idk, Daario's green dick

Picture not working .
Someone already added the blue beard to Daario #2:

Maybe we haven't seen what the point to Daario is yet. Nothing in this series is meaningless

Daario exists to be killed by Victarion, nothing more

I'll become a full fledged Victarion fan/loyalist if he kills Daario.

Doing my usual bump of this thread. Bunch of GoT haters in the TD thread and a lot of them have never watched the show.

“Ned would not speak of the mother, not so much as a word, but a castle has no secrets, and Catelyn heard her maids repeating tales they heard from the lips of her husband’s soldiers. They whispered of Ser Arthur Dayne, the Sword of the Morning, deadliest of the seven knights of Aerys’s Kingsguard, and of how their young lord had slain him in single combat. And they told how afterward Ned had carried Ser Arthur’s sword back to the beautiful young sister who awaited him in a castle called Starfall on the shores of the Summer Sea. The Lady Ashara Dayne, tall and fair, with haunting violet eyes.”
“It had taken her a fortnight to marshal her courage, but finally, in bed one night, Catelyn had asked her husband the truth of it, asked him to his face.
That was the only time in all their years that Ned had ever frightened her. “Never ask me about Jon,” he said, cold as ice. “He is my blood, and that is all you need to know. And now I will learn where you heard that name, my lady.” She had pledged to obey; she told him; and from that day on, the whispering had stopped, and Ashara Dayne’s name was never heard in Winterfell again.
Whoever Jon’s mother had been, Ned must have loved her fiercely, for nothing Catelyn said would persuade him to send the boy away. It was the one thing she could never forgive him. She had come to love her husband with all her heart, but she had never found it in her to love Jon. She might have overlooked a dozen bastards for Ned’s sake, so long as they were out of sight. Jon was never out of sight, and as he grew, he looked more like Ned than any of the trueborn sons she bore him. Somehow that made worse."
A couple things here:
Cats reasoning for why she hates Jon Snow so much is really off base.
This is either a huge clue to R+L=J or it doesn't really mean much to that theory at all. I think it's all in how you take it.
Why do so many people around Winterfell whisper about JS mom being Ashara Dayne? Where would they even get that story from?

The Tourny at Harrenhall. He danced with Ashara there. Also, Barristan notes that one of the Wolves shamed her or something to that extent.

Well yeah, depending on your view of Catelyn and Ned's conversation, it could strengthen the Lyanna and Rhaegar theory. Ned calls Jon his blood, not his son.
As far a the Ashara Dayne stuff goes, it's quite easy to understand why the people of Winterfell would think that is Jon's mother. It was known that Ned had feelings for her and considering Brandon's reputation of flinging his fluids people though that maybe Ned was the same way. When Ned had finished with the war, he returns Dawn to Ashara and she allegedly throws herself off a cliff out of grief. People probably thought that Ned wasn't going to let "his" baby just be raised by anyone.
One thing about the Jon Snow parentage, is when David Benioff and D.B. Weiss first talked to George about making the show, George asked them "who's Jon Snow's mother?" They answered and he agreed to give them the rights. Goes back to what I was saying about George being happy that intelligent people read his books and figured out who Jon's parents are. Let's me know that they told him the correct answer and he knew that these two guys aren't idiots.
