Its a safe bet the Faceless Men will not approve of personal vengeance. Not that she'll care.

Naturally I think she use the skills she learned and they will kill her in the end for it.

Arya's destiny is a mystery to me. too many possibilities to choose from.
Sansa will be leading the knights of the Vale against the Lannisters
quote:very possible.
Bran also connects somehow with ayra and Jon to help them understand their power.

But apparently only Ned found it odd that they weren't with him at the Trident.
I see what you are saying. Obviously Rhaegar commanded them to stay, but that leads to crackpot's about whether the KG was behind Rhaegar taking over the Iron Throne.

Wouldn't Selmy have written some account of their actions during the war?
I think he was probably in the dark. He was not Lord Commander at the time and they were obviously separated at the time. I doubt he would put hearsay in the book.

Or maybe he did figure it out but had no interest in backing Jon as he is the result of Rhaegar dishonoring Elia?
That's a good point I hadn't considered. But I think it would be more in line with him wanting his family ruling in some way. Jon may have disrupted his plans.

I believe the FM and the Iron Bank are related, that the Iron Bank grew from the Faceless Men so doesn't that make a little more sense now, that they would send someone all the way to the Wall to track Stannis down to offer him money and support for his ( nearly lost cause) claim to the Iron Throne. They have Arya and through her claim can assure the North will support their candidate for the Iron Throne. That makes more sense to me as their reason for backing Stannis.
Interesting theory I read on the web. I doubt FM and the bank are related per say but I bet the bank uses them a lot. Would be an easy way to her back Home

But I do think his death will free him from the watch, yes. It'll be interesting to see how everything shakes out up north next book.
So do y'all think Jon is going to be brought back by Melisandre, ala Beric/Thoros?
That's assuming he's dead, which I don't know if that's necessarily the case.

I would think the FM grew from the Iron Bank, but that's pretty American of me.

According to the kindly man the FM actually predate Braavos itself. But Martin does love that unreliable narrator song and dance.

So is it a stretch to think Jon's watch has ended and re-Jon can go ball on some Frey's?
I think most think that his death ends his Watch since they've really pushed that with the oath and such. I think it's a nifty out at the very least and an honorable one.

Seems like Bran is already trying and succeeding in a way to communicate with Jon through Mormont's raven and with Theon through the tree when he was in Winterfell.
I'm a lot less sure on the end game of the Children of the Forrest and the 3 eyed crow (Bloodraven I think?) though. Are they anti-others? pro-others? Do they care about the individual houses of Westeros? Do they care about the "realm" of Westeros at all? Do they want the wildlings/free people to flourish? What's their position on the NW?
I really am having a hard time figuring out what they want in all of this.

I think I've made my thoughts on this particular subject clear enough

They're all over the place as I've stated them many many times.
But without getting too far into it, I believe that the children and the others have joined each other in a precarious alliance. I believe that they have been mortal enemies throughout time but now they both want the same thing. They want to go home and they want to punish the race who drove them out of their homes. So they may hate each other but they hate Man more.

quote:that was my thinking too. the main hangup for me is that the CotF have a barrier that wights cannot cross at the entrance to their greenseer cave and Coldhands and Leaf have no issue killing them. fine, wights =/= white walkers, but why would the Others set up an ambush for the Bran crew if they are in cahoots. are they subtle enough to plan out a mummer's farce to trick Bran into feeling like he can't turn down the greenseer's offer?
So they may hate each other but they hate Man more.
