Well, not really. But there are some similarities. She dreams of her ice dragon bringing her to the Land of Always Winter. She was born during the coldest spell anyone ever remembered, even the old Nan characters (can't remember the name but it was Old something). And her mother died the night she was born. (Seems to be a favorite device of Martin).

Also, her touch is cool. She can pick up ice lizards without the heat from her hand hurting them like other people. She doesn't cry - even when she was young and stepped on a plank, putting a nail clean through her foot.

So there are some unusual things about her. But I don't know if I would exactly call her other-like.

And, while there seem to be other ice dragons around, it is the one particular one that comes at the time of her birthday each year and she rides it farther and more frequently each year. And it is that which seems to make the winters grow longer.
