Dabo Swinney Tolerates Only These 3 Cuss Words From Clemson Players
© Nell Redmond-USA TODAY Sports
Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney wants his team's actions on the field to speak for them. So, when it comes to using profanity at practice, Dabo only tolerates three cuss words. Per postandcourier.com...
quote:

“We try to keep it clean at practice,” junior left tackle Jackson Carman said. “We know we have recruits or administrators or former players around.”

So zero profanity?

“Unless it’s in the Bible,” Carman said.

That’s right, the tolerable ways to express disgust per Swinney, a devout Christian, are limited: hell, damn, arse.

“It’s the right thing to do,” Swinney said when asked about the edict.

He then repeated the three words.

“Is ‘arse’ in the Bible?” Swinney asked me.

@EvrybodysAllAmerican Agreed...but not necessarily for religious reasons

I don’t see anything necessarily wrong with that. Sure it’s kinda corny and extremely on brand for Dabo, but I don’t see a problem with trying to not cuss like a sailor out there.

It's not a problem, it's just silly. Censorship is just weird, especially if it's not directly insulting anyone and in the right "football" context.

exactly...players and coaches should always watch their language when recruits, females and kids are at these practices.

What is so amazing to me! ...is to read all the idiotic comments about this. Much of the time there are males, females and kids at these practices. Why is it wrong for a head coach to want the coaches and players to watch their language?

bullshite Dabo. I’m almost positive the linebacker that was ejected for spearing Jefferson said frick on the sideline pretty emphatically. I’m sure it was on the telecast of national championship.

Sunshine taking a hit in practice: “Oh FORNICATE!!!” Hey, it’s in the Bible. Doesn’t roll off the tongue quite as smoothly. But definitely in the Bible.
