Michael C. Johnson-USA TODAY Sports
NOLA.com is reporting that LSU will fire head basketball coach Johnny Jones after the SEC Tournament, which starts this Wednesday.
quote:

Multiple sources with knowledge of the situation told The Times-Picayune that Jones will be fired after the upcoming SEC Tournament. The Tigers play Mississippi State on Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the opening game of the tournament.

Jones has been on the hot seat since the end of last season but LSU's performance this year hasn't done anything to help. LSU is 10-20 this season with a 2-16 record in conference play.

Noooooooooooo! Why??? Lol it was all good a year & some change ago. I was so excited they got Ben Simmons, Blakeney etc etc. LSU should make the tourney every year with how bad the SEC is.

I don't know about you guys, but this news shocks me. LSU wins two conference games abs makes the tournament. I thought only little league gave participation awards.

I want LSU to make an Auburn-like run in the SEC Tournament, circa 2015.

Unfortunately, they will probably go out and hire another lame arse coach instead of trying to land a big fish and get back in this thing. I don't understand why basketball has never been a priority at LSU. Sure, football is king. So is baseball. TAF has the money to hire a big time coach and make us relevant in the 3 major sporting groups. Get it done guys!

Yeah. Don't think about the thousands of repercussions. Just fire fire fire. Fans are so dumb.

I avoided the games this year. Should of been let go earlier with Randy taking over as HC.

Why was he even hired?

Dale Brown pushed it. And Jones played and coached for Brown which means he learned everything from him. And that's not good. Dale, great guy, great motivator, promoter of all things LSU and recruiter. Not a good in game coach, strategist or game planner. Those are just the facts.

As bad as LSU has been, the SEC has been fairly dismal too in hoops. It is very unlikely, but I could see the Tigers make some quick noise in the tourney, say two wins and a competitive half. Best of luck to JJ

I wish it could have turned out better for Coach Jones. He's a true Tiger and I hate that it has to end this way. Best of luck to you and your family Coach Jones.

If Kentucky lost every starter, their backups would still hammer us. We aren't well coached!
