Report: Gus Malzahn Close To Accepting Contract Changes To Remain At Auburn

Brandon Marcello with 247 Sports is reporting that Gus Malzahn is close to accepting changes to his contract that include a reduced buyout and "other limitations" to remain the head coach at Auburn.

Auburn and Malzahn agreed on a seven-year contract last November worth $49 million with 75 percent guaranteed. Since then Auburn has struggled, going 7-7 overall. His current buyout is $32 million.

I'm sure that every recruit is so stupid that it won't occur to them that a coach whose buyout is reduced might not be around for long. Yeah. That's a great way to recruit the kids needed for that national championship. Absolutely.

WTF, Don't do it Gus. Jimmy Sexton you need to jump in and stop this. You just got the deal for Gus for winning the West last year, the SEC in 13 and being the NC runner-up. There is plenty of time to address this in a couple of years, if need be. Bad look for AUB admin.

There will be many recruits that Georgia, Bama, UF, LSU, and Auburn will all be going head to head for and this entire scenario will not help Auburn at all on the recruitment front.
