re: Bielema and Gus are puzzling hires - Maize&BlueTiger
Another coach was hired some years ago from a Big 10 school that had performed only decently, in order to try and resurrect a floundering SEC program with a rich history. As I recall, that worked out fairly well. A coach can only do what the available talent permits him to do. Lighten up....

re: Evidence Strongly Suggesting Alabama Officiating Bias - Maize&BlueTiger
How does the comparison work when it's 'Bama vs. Auburn. Or Tennessee. Or Mississippi State? Is it a pro-Bama bias or an anti-LSU bias? Your data is insufficient to justify any conclusion. ...
I just don't understand why we're supposed to be satisfied with mediocrity because we were awful 20 years ago.
so, at what point do they put guard rails up at stations ?
The problem with that is that the guard rails would be in the way of people getting on and off the trains (though if the trains were programmed to stop in exactly the same spot, I suppose they could install rails with gates...
One of the things that jumped out at me was his use of the word "decadence" to describe the state of LSU football in the 90s.
I agree that Warner is in over his head when he tries to write a piece in this style. However, what I don't agree with is that there is no value to sports...
Any basic composition teacher will tell you that if you can convey your message in fewer words, then so much the better.
