re: 4 Star PF (2015) Chooses Mississippi State - Maroonmadness
Hard to find a lot of sources on that but I linked what I did find which shows him 23 of 42 from 3 point land. http://khsaa.org/basketball/boys/sweet16/2015/region3stats.pdf...

re: 4 Star PF (2015) Chooses Mississippi State - Maroonmadness
Interesting analysis, maybe you didn't see him play enough. He shot 62.2 percent from the field and 52 percent from the 3 point line. He will have an adjustment period for sure especially needing to gain strength. However, I will definitely expect more from him than put-backs and lobs on o...

re: Cohen's Transfers - Maroonmadness
A lot of people said the same thing about Mullen when we were sitting at 4-6 in 2013. One year later we hit #1 in the nation for 5 weeks. I have no idea if Cohen gets it turned around next year or not, but given the guy almost got us a NC 2 years ago he certainly deserves another year to see if he...

re: ***tOfficial Stansbury wishes he could recruit like Howland Recruiting Thread*** - Maroonmadness
I don't claim to know the details of Kasongo's recruitment or what he was told by us or TN in terms of playing time. All I know is that he was our #1 inside target at the time and we thought we were getting him up until the day he signed with TN but we didn't. ...

re: 2014-2015 State Baseball Thread***** Record 21-12 - Maroonmadness
Well, I'm sure there are a lot of MSU fans that follow whatever of the Big 3 men's sports are in season. I'm pretty much like that. For me its football then a pretty good dropoff to baseball and then basketball in the rear, but I keep up with all of them. In general I just think college basketball ...

Yes, apparently there was some sinister poltergeist that tripped Spruill when he was coming around 3rd base to score the winning run last night....

Yep, the Fat Lady sang on the season this past weekend. Only thing left to decide now is whether or not we squeak into the SEC tournament. Would be pretty embarassing not to even make the SEC tourney given only 2 SEC teams are left out. I mean you play for the NC and then 2 years later you can't ...

re: 2014-2015 State Baseball Thread***** Record 21-12 - Maroonmadness
Yep, even that may not be enough, but without getting to .500 or better in the SEC we all know there is zero shot. Hopefully the RPI takes care of itself with the Top 20 wins it would take to get back to at least .500 in the SEC....

re: 2014-2015 State Baseball Thread***** Record 21-12 - Maroonmadness
Key is finishing .500 or better in the SEC. If we win tomorrow we are only 1 game under .500, but if we lose, we are back to 3 games under .500....

re: ***tOfficial Stansbury wishes he could recruit like Howland Recruiting Thread*** - Maroonmadness
I'm not going to get back into my critique of Ray but I don't think effort was nearly as much of a problem as lack of a cohesive plan on offense or least not one that our players could understand or execute. And I wouldn't put much stock in how well Howland did his first year at UCLA. Every situat...

re: ***tOfficial Stansbury wishes he could recruit like Howland Recruiting Thread*** - Maroonmadness
While there is no sure thing on predicting how a recruit will produce as a FR in college, basketball is by far the easiest sport to do that in. And we have a lot of returning pieces so its not like Malik will need to come in and carry the whole team by himself. We aren't expecting 4 or 5 freshman ...

re: ***tOfficial Stansbury wishes he could recruit like Howland Recruiting Thread*** - Maroonmadness
My thoughts exactly. We would have a decent shot at the NIT next year without Newman AND if Ray and staff were still around. With Howland coaching and IF we add guys like Newman and Kasongo (neither of which we would get without Howland) there is NO reason why we shouldn't be able to raise our lev...

re: ***tOfficial Stansbury wishes he could recruit like Howland Recruiting Thread*** - Maroonmadness
So we've hired one of the winningest coaches in all of the NCAA over the past nearly 20 years. Next year we have probably the most veteran team returning in the SEC plus we have an excellent shot to add a Top 5 HS player and some other additional very nice players. With all of that its sunshine pu...
