Willie Gay recruiting tidbit

A few guys from Mississippi state boards are wondering where all this is coming from, they said all of their main guys, who they say are rarely wrong, haven't said or heard anything about Willie making a commitment last night... TIFWIW

I tried to tell you guys for weeks not to get your hopes up for Gay.There has a planned signing day event for him setup and he has been playing that up to the media and fans for months now.His mother and brother want him in Starkville,his bff is on the State team,he is very close with Leo Lewis,this just wasn't ever going to work out for us.
He did not commit to Mullen last night but he will be on their campus this weekend with his whole family and that's when he plans to give their staff his commitment.

Paul Jones (a MS State insider) is very confident that Gay is going to State.
He started saying this stuff this morning, and last night Mullen and a few other of their staff visited Gay. So I think State fans are just drawing their own conclusions.
But Paul Jones also said the reason he thinks Gay goes to State ("it's about over concerning Willie" was his quote) is because his mom doesn't want him leaving starkvegas. So I don't think he is implying a silent commit was given either.

Steve Robertson(MSU Scout) who is much more informed than Paul Jones is saying that same thing.

Agreed. He will be a great player surrounded by mediocrity. I guess the most important thing to him is staying home. I wish they taught that type of value system in Baton Rouge homes
