Moral victories? This has nothing to do with morality.
One of the possible outcomes in sports is that you play a hell of a game against a tough opponent and lose.
If you can't handle that, you need to find a different hobby than sportsfan....

This kind of talk is plain crazy. It's born of narcissistic frustration, and the desire to have a sacrificial lamb, the coach, slaughtered in recognition of that frustration.

I am not bashing the LSU coach. I said almost all (if not all) coaches would do what he did. I bash the general, common philosophy.

Regardless of whether the field goal makes or misses, it is the wrong decision to kick it in my opinion. I'm not 20-20 hindsight because it missed....

I shall not be swayed. If you are ahead to begin with, inside the opponents 30 yard line, and have a somewhat reasonable chance to end the game then and there, you go for that chance. Every time....
