This moral victory crap is sickening.

were we 2-5 coming into this game? were we 7-5 last year? we are a top program. losing at home to anyone should not be parlayed into a "victory"
when Bama starts talking their shite in a couple of days, and their kind words disappear, minds will change. they have plenty of advantages to start with, as everyone bitches about on here.
And it drags out another year of being razzed...

I was thinking the same thing. I'm proud LSU played well, but still have a hard time accepting the loss. That was our shot at a NC and some people here are thrilled the death about. LSU should be WAY past moral victories

I live in Alabama and have had a ton of Bama fans come up to me and say we physically embarrassed them. Even today, I had a Bama fan tell me he was glad as hell they didn't have to play us again and that "Miles for the majority of that game made Bama look soft"
Take it for what its worth.

Losing 2 lineman one to injury and one with family problems, almost new secondary, first time starting sec qb, and receivers with the dropsies. Seriously, go back to grade school.

Same I mean the whole deal with oh our coach has made the turn to be a good coach. WHAT?! The dude has been here 8 years and is just starting to make the turn, da frick are we doing with him then. No he's always been the same guy, a tier 1 coach among some of the best. He had a game in his f'n fingers and let it slip. I've never seen so many good feelings going around after a loss.
Another thing is this 'next year' bull shite. Live in the now or its just going to be these years where we 'almost' get it done but never over the top. We need to be an all or nothing team, play with every ounce of effort for that year cause you never what'll happen next year, ie this year with the injuries.

There are no moral victories for LSU. We go into every game expecting to win and we lose we are livid. We played our arse off and lost. We move on now, beat the piss out of our remaining opponents and hope to get into the best bowl possible. A program like LSU doesnt have a moral victory.

What the F happened to the Delta I used to know? Where's the spirit? Where's the guts, huh? This could be the greatest night of our lives, but you're gonna let it be the worst. "Ooh, we're afraid to go with you Bluto, we might get in trouble." Well just kiss my arse from now on! Not me! I'm not gonna take this. Wormer, he's a dead man! Marmalard, dead! Niedermeyer...

I agree
Maybe the coach needs to address the team and fan base, I don't know, but here is what I would say relative to the mental attitude about the loss.
" your effort was good enough, and It's my fault guys, I made the calls that didn't work out, I really wanted this victory and perhaps I was too aggressive, we've made similar calls in the past that worked out really nice. "
......" you were the better team Saturday night and I am proud of that fact, However what matters is we didn't win the game, we have to finish games and we didn't,. The bottom line is we play for championships, period! Therefore, tonight will be remembered as not good enough, see on the practice field- 24 hour rule...lets finish the season the LSU way, "

I am proud of the team and the adversity they have fought through this year. Even though an SEC and BCS championship os out of the picture, I will still cheer just as much for the rest of the season.

Agreed. I expected to win before the game and would rather win ugly than lose pretty.
Tired of all the Bama di*k sucking before and after the game. F moral victories. I am not blaming CM since I am a huge Miles homer.

i WOULD be more prone to the whole moral victory line of thinking...but the mannerin which we lost the game totally erases it and then some.

We can't be pissed off that we lost and at the same time be proud that our guys played their asses off?
Posted on 11/5/12 at 6:35 pm to MadtownTiger
So as you find the bad in the game and coaching, no one else can find some positives from it? Those players left it all out on field, the fans were out of control, and we are to just act as if none of this happened? They played the potential NC team, #1 ranked, down to the wire, and all you can see is how bad it was? It sucks to be you....

It's a loser's mentality.
