This is what I am doing. I have a 7 mo. old and child #2 expected end of June. In the Iowa 529 plan, we have a choice of 5 funds. I will stick to the aggressive while they are young....

I can't speak to your entire tax situation, but if you did not receive any income in 2015 related to your sole proprietorship, you would not need to make an estimated tax payment related to that business by January 15th....
