re: my dumbass neighbor

What was her reaction when she realized she was so wrong?...
I'm with you. We have 3 couples/families that have gotten together 4 times already this year and split the cost. When they were more expensive, we were each around $100 a family for the crawfish and fixings. They have since come down. We would have spent at least that if we would have all gone ou...

That's actually where I'm leaning, but a saltwater pool is relatively easy if you just apply a little time to it. I just know I have not been as diligent as I should have and was looking for ideas. ...

Swimming Pool Maintenance

General question of how do you guys keep up with the pool chemistry? Are you doing your own tests of the water, bringing samples to local pool store, or is there a good device that would possibly connect to your phone to tell you how the levels are in the pool?...

Caught a lot of Choupic in the Coulees near and in the swamp. One of the best fishing spots in the area is Coulee Michelle....
The whistler! We have a guy that I don't think he even realizes he's whistling while walking in the hall to go get his coffee. He's gonna get tackled one day because we have asked him to stop several times....
My wife found out in '09 that her problems over the years were all from gluten. Docs even took out her gallbladder and ran all the tests under the moon but kept telling us gluten-free wouldn't be the fix. Even last suggestion after colonoscopy was to take laxative 4 times a day because she felt ok...

In most situations, I'd totally agree with you, but I think we have created a little foodie in my daughter. Not saying that we've frequented high end steakhouses with her, but she is our only child so we have brought her along to many of the places the wife and I have gone out to eat. Since she was...

I've always heard of the "broiling" method of finishing them in the oven. Has me a bit intrigued to maybe give it a shot....

Filet Mignon Method/Recipe

My daughter (no pics) is a senior this year and for Homecoming, instead of going eat out, she wants a couple of her friends to come over and we cook them some steaks and loaded mash potatoes. Wondering if any of you are willing to share any rubs/marinades/method of cooking? Just as a preface, ...
So companies should sell their product at cost and the government will continue to collect the tax on that product to spend money to put these companies out of business by financing the green transition? Makes total sense huh?...
I agree with you here. Cut their price and many will buy it because it's cheaper. Alot of folks have their morals and I applaud them, but alot more rather have their money in the end....
I don't think it's quite working that way. They are either: A: Getting the money from you, holding it, and passing it onto the charity through the use of a liability account. This would mean they get no deduction for your contribution. B. They care calling the money from you Income. They ta...

re: Baking soda for pool

I would be very interested in switching away from my saltwater pool to something similar to this. What is the cost to purchase the Floatron and is the only upkeep to replace the rods every couple of years?...
We live in Thibodaux and are kicking around the idea of getting a limo bus and going eat for my wife's birthday in either Baton Rouge or Nola. Looking for suggestions of possible restaurants and places to go after eating. Anyone have suggestions? TIA...

re: High Performance Boiling Pots

Posted by MotorbikeMike on 3/15/23 at 2:04 pm
I agree, sticker price kinda scary. But, I've boiled 12 or so times already in 2023 so I use it alot. And, likely this pot will last a really long time (at least I'd hope so). If it truely does bring the water to a boil that fast, I would maybe give it a shot. Pot and basket for the price. ...

High Performance Boiling Pots

Any of you guys own one of the High Performance Boiling Pots? The claim is that it brings the water to boil in 7 minutes. They're kinda pricey in the 120 quart being $466, but I boil enough that I could justify the price if the pot performs as they claim. [link=(https://highperformancecoo...

re: Crawfish Boil Calculator

Great recommendation here! I boil a lot, and do a couple of pretty large boils for our office where we are doing 450lbs at a time. Use this formula. Only thing I'll add is know your audience. If you will want them a bit spicer, add a bit more seasoning and soak longer. Biggest tip, soakin...

Rain and Basketball Game

Posted by MotorbikeMike on 2/16/23 at 1:14 pm
A bit of a dumb question, but we are going to the WBB game tonight and they're forecasting plenty of rain. How do folks get from their vehicles and back? Like if we had an umbrella will they let us bring it in, or should we do ponchos or raincoats?...
