(Reuters) - An experimental coronavirus vaccine developed by Inovio Pharmaceuticals Inc (INO.O) showed promise and was found to be safe in an early-stage human trial, the company said on Tuesday.

The vaccine, one of the 17 being tested in humans and part of the Trump administration's "Operation Warp Speed" program, induced "immune responses" in healthy volunteers, Inovio said.

Immune responses in the study were measured by the vaccine's ability to generate binding antibodies, or virus-neutralizing antibodies, and T-cell responses - considered the two most important metrics for a successful vaccine.

Based on preliminary data, the drug developer said 34 of the 36 volunteers, all aged between 18 and 50 years, showed overall immunological response rates and most of the 10 patients with side-effects experienced only redness at the site of the shot.

It's seemingly good news.
But, we've had story after story about this.
I'll believe it when I see it.

This Vaccine is in 3rd or 4th place now.

The Oxford and Moderna Vaccines have been tested on a couple thousand so far and have been safe and effective. Both will be in full stage 3 which means 10s of thousands in the trial within weeks and emergency approval in 6-8 weeks.

China has a vaccine that they are probably using political prisoners to test that they and the WHO will probably approve for emergency use by the end of July.

The chinese vaccine will mostly be used in developing countries in exchange for allegiance with China. It will put pressure on the CDC and the Europeans to approve the Oxford and Moderna vaccines.

Bypassing animal testing has shown to be disaster and ended up killing people before.

Here we go again....lessons never seem to be learned anymore.

Same can be said for allowing an acute respiratory illness to run its course.

if it saves one life, shouldn't proper testing protocols be followed? There are signs this same hyper immune response responsible for killing folks before is happening again with this vaccine.

Educate yourself.

Moderna and Oxford both animal tested while they were doing phase 1 testing.

They are animal testing...

In addition to positive interim Phase 1 data, INO-4800 has been shown to protect mice in SARS-CoV-2 viral challenge studies, where vaccination with INO-4800 prevented viral replication in the lungs of animals challenged with SARS-CoV-2. Moreover, INO-4800 is currently being tested in a ferret challenge model as well as in NHP challenge studies as part of Operation Warp Speed.

Ferretts are the appropriate animal testing for respiratory diseases, not mice.

Are they reclassifying this now?

EDIT: I see they are doing ferretts too. That is good. Now they just need to do safety studies (they wont) and everyone will be happy and verify the hyper immune reaction is not happening.

You even phase I trials baw? How do you think they're including this line if they're not tracking safety?

There's a couple things you want can test in clinical trials...safety, dosing, efficacy. Phase I is safety.

If you think I’m gonna let the government inject me with a “vaccine” in the middle of the 5G rollout you have got another thing coming.

admitting said point is absolutely true and then calling it drama?

Should we go through this and analyze it with logic and reason or are you just going to admit you are resorting to personal attacks since you cant refute the facts?
