re: Beer Spinoff- Bottle, Draft, or Cans?
Posted by jeffrochill on 9/14/12 at 11:59 pm
Pour a can or bottle into a mug and you cannot tell the difference, a correctly poured, clean lined, fresh draft is the best way to enjoy a beer unless they are looking for bottle conditioning....
re: Best BBQ You Ever Ate

The correct answer is Franklin's BBQ in Austin, best brisket ever, two hour lines daily for months and months until expanded smoker, now one hour lines. City Market in Luling is a close second and all the Lockhart BBQ joints can bring it, just not as consistent across the board. Bon Appétit named F...

I am making Bayona style Cream of Garlic soup and Sweet Potato Brioche for Thanksgiving appetizer and cannot find any information on the crispy garlic topping she puts in the soup. Does anyone know what the topping is? Butter fried garlic strips seem like they could be bitter, but it doesn't look l...

I would skip the triple sec if possible, grand marnier or cointreau are far superior....
re: Margarita recipe

I have spent much research and many dollars trying to perfect the margarita, the classic best way is keeping it simple with key or regular lime juice, tequila, splash of grand marnier or contreau and salted rim, add whatever you like from there, I love adding cucumber, chili pepper, even a sidecar o...

re: Ribs on a Gas Grill
Posted by jeffrochill on 2/12/11 at 2:13 pm
Had the same problem last weekend at buddies house, I did two hours on indirect heat with some wood chips on direct heat side, wrapped them in foil for two hours, and finished directly on the grill with some Sweet baby rays and fresh honey to glaze it with. Came out perfect, use a spicier rub with ...

The original recipe calls for a sandwich between...

Dinner Sunday night in New Orleans
Posted by jeffrochill on 7/25/10 at 12:20 am
I am looking for a restaurant that is open on Sunday night, only in New Orleans a couple of times a year and have enjoyed Bayona, Brigten's, Cochon and August on last couple of trips, is there any similar restaurant that will be open Aug 8th evening?

Cinque Terra is knockout, you will enjoy, we went to a great formaggio shop in Manaroloa near the water, just get to go and eat on the rocks in the ocean. There was a solid seafood restaurant on the water in Riomaggiore, it's the only sit down restaurant overlooking the ocean....
