Things are getting bigger in Texas. Today the Texas A&M University System Board of Regents approved $16 million of renovations to the Aggies' Bright Football Complex that include the locker room, athletic training facilities, meeting rooms and coaches’ offices.
quote:

“We appreciate the support of the Board of Regents, University administration and Aggies everywhere,” Texas A&M Director of Athletics Eric Hymansaid in a statement. “The sincere commitment to excellence from everyone associated with Texas A&M is apparent. This project will continue to help us recruit outstanding student-athletes, as well as provide a first-class experience for our current student-athletes and coaches.”

The renovation will be funded entirely through gift funds from the 12th Man Foundation. Construction is expected to begin as soon as possible, with an anticipated first-floor completion date of fall 2014. The third floor, which primarily includes the coaches’ offices, is scheduled to be complete by summer 2015.

Why? Because Manziel being gone freed up $16M in salary cap. Do you even SEC Football?

Hyman is a spender, make no mistake about it. But when you can do it strictly with donations, that's impressive. He'll take full advantage of the big bank account. Who can blame him? I fully expect A&M's facilities to be second-to-none in the entire country when all is said and done. With the money they have at their disposal and that 5th Avenue spending whore of an AD of theirs in control of the slush fund, they'll have Taj Mahal type duds in no time. Tejas Longhorns beware, you're no longer wearing the biggest hat with the biggest belt buckle in your state, there's a new sheriff in town and his lust for building improvements and expansion knows no boundaries. His motto is, "if you build it they will come."
