Charleston last year was pretty terrible. They were remodeling it. It was like a damn third world country in the airport. No AC. Exposed wiring. It was terrible.

Were you in the first timers line? I flew into there last week and was pretty good even with the construction going on. I was pissed leaving there yesterday because the Starbucks was closed for 30 mins for shift change haha

DMM does suck due to the staff but I have never had much issue there either but I have an Iquama (resident visa), the worst I have been in and out of more than once is PHC in Port Harcourt Nigeria, f that shithole.

As someone mentioned earlier CDG is shite for its size and the fact that it is in what claims to be a first world country.

MCI is a design straight from the 1950s and 60s, it was definitely made for the pre-deregulation era.

It was designed before security became a major concern so it's laid out awkwardly for security checkpoints. But I like that it's a short walk to baggage claim and then to ground transportation. I fly in and out of Kansas City several times a year and don't mind it at all. If it's someone's pick for "worst airport experience" then they've had pretty limited travel experience.

Flying in to Newark when they were changing the computers was pretty horrible. Planes had no idea what gate to go to, flight crews didn't know which planes they were assigned to. All flights were hours behind schedule.

ATL during Delta's recent fackup wasn't fun and I had it relatively easy. There were thousands of passengers stranded there.

The 2.5 hour line at the American counter at Port of Spain sucked. The line at Karachi was pretty awful and was more of a scrum than a line.

I spent 5 hours in a plane on the runway at Austin in the middle of the night. And the flight was to Dallas but the storms were so bad they put planes down anywhere they could. They didn't let us get off the plane so I've never set foot in Austin.

I'm still pretty young and a rookie compared to some of you guys, but I'm a firm believer bad events are inevitable if you fly enough, but really look at how the company, or its' employees handle them.

Least favorite airport: Cancun.
I've been rather lucky at customs in Cancun, but have had three bad experiences. Two with a custom's agent, having a bad day I'm assuming, going through all my shite, and I mean ALL. Opening every single thing, counting pills in my pill bottles, interrogating me about each thing, until he finally had to bring in a superintendent, because he was too worked up. Each time the super basically apologized and told me to have a nice day.

The worst in Cancun was when coming back from Cuba. This was no one in particular's fault. Custom's was tipped off to a Cuban passenger attempting to smuggle "contraband" into Mexico. We noticed that EVERY single Cuban citizen was being ridiculously scrutinized, causing the line to move at a snails pace. My SO and I decided to move to a different line, which is allowed, but I guess with the particular situation, which we were unaware of at the time, caused it to be a huge deal. We were approached and basically asked why we changed lines, what were we hiding, etc. We were so confused, eventually a higher-up from the police department came and explained to us the situation and apologized and had us taken up to the front to clear customs. It was a huge misunderstanding, but rather annoying.

My two worst experience in general is either with Vision airlines, when they flew from BTR to Gulf Shores for a short while. I was young and in college, and on the way back we attempted to take off 4 different times, and each time aborted take-off. Then sat on the runway while maintenance came to look at the plane. It's ungodly hot by this point, passengers are scared and getting unruly, demanding to be let off the airplane, screaming, etc. We ended up taking off after an hour on the runway and had an uneventful flight.

Recently I was flying American from AEX to MLI thru DFW. We board, disembark, delay, then delay, then delay, the re-board, and I had an exit row seat. They moved a LARGE man in the seat next to me. He was so large I could not even put the arm rest down. After I notice I calmly get up and ask the FA to come speak with me away from the passenger so I didnt have to talk about him being obese in front of him. The FA literally yells at me to take my seat for "weight and balance issues" in front of all the passengers. So I go ahead and let him know that I'm not sitting in that exit seat next to that passenger, and that I'm not willing to help in case of an emergency. He again yells at me to take my seat for weight and balance issues, so I once again let him know that I'm not willing to help in case of an emergency, and that if the pilot would like to speak to me about W&B I would be sitting in the only open seat in the back. He threatens to kick me off, but eventually leaves it alone and we, once again, disembark. Finally, two hours later we depart, and I had my seat changed at the gate, and he had no recourse.

I ended up filing a complaint with American, tweeting them, and received no response, so, I emailed the VP of the AAdvantage program, and received a call from his secretary the next day apologizing, and gave me a bunch of miles and a couple of upgrades.

This was my first trip here. they are starting the residence visa process right now. Most of the guys I work with started flying into Bahrain so they don't have to deal with the DMM airport. think that's what I'm going to do on my next trip. and they have beer there....

Definitely Puerto Rico. I'm having to come back early from visiting our villa in St. Croix due to my grandfather's death. I get to PR and I cannot find any of the flight info on their screens. I'm flying to Atlanta then shreveport. No flight numbers, flights to Atlanta, or shreveport. Not even a departure matching my time. So I ask a lady at the desk if she could help me find my flight. Literally points me to the TV screens with the usual info. I tell her that I have checked those screens and the info wasn't there. So I go around trying to find more help. I'm getting nowhere and it is getting close to departure. I'm passing by the same lady and she asks if my name is mr. jmarto1. I said yes. She proceeds to go off on me about holding up the plane from taking off. I just absolutely love it on her. Security comes running up and gets between us. Eventually I just said to let me on the damn plane that she couldn't tell me was right behind her the whole damn time.

Wait until you get stuck on the causeway for 6 hours and you may feel differently, I have flown from both for quite some time and they each have their advantage.

Arriving in for the next two weeks won't be so bad due to the Haj, everyone is leaving, the 18th-22nd will be hell on entry though

Least favorite for me is Nairobi. Parts of it burned a few years ago and some operations moved into tents. And stayed that way for ages.
Don't really understand why CDG is so unpopular. At least you can get good pastries there.

Interesting how many use White Plains I was told stay away you never may get out.

Worst airport Cusco, no one prepared for the mob that waits in terminal and outside wanting to drive you to your hotel. I was by myself looking for my ride and thought I was going to get tossed into a car and kidnapped.
