Going to Orlando in January for marathon weekend at Disney. When is the best time to book the flights. Looking to fly out of nola as its cheaper.also southwest has direct flights. As of yesterday southwest wouldn't let you book past November. I found flights on delta for $357 for 2 adults. But it does have a stop in Atlanta. Should I book it now or what and see what the southwest price will be.

Most research says to book on a Tuesday and around 57 days out. Not going to always work.

We followed this and got decent prices to Seattle but then have since been screwed when we realized we have to pay $25 per checked bag and had to upgrade for $100 in order to get our seats next to each other. I would have been happy sitting anywhere and by myself but the decision was made without anyone asking me. So much for good prices. Next time I am just flying on my preferred airline with no hidden costs, the price upfront may be more but in the end it is the same since you won't have surprise fees.

We fly in the fall and typically we pay anywhere from $99 to $130 each way for a direct flight from MSY(Nola). We generally get the best rates around 2 months out. Sign up for Sale alerts on Southwest.com and just see what comes up. You can only book up to 6 months out and you will see the highest fares of the year on those bookings. Last year, we got tickets flying out on a Tuesday for $198 round trip each in early July for a late September trip.
