Skytop I dont remember ever filling up, but manley im guessing by 9 or 10 at the latest. The shuttle will drop off/pick up right across from the life sciences building. To get to the dome walk straight through campus across the quad, probably a 5 min walk.

After the game, they will have shuttles lined up at the bus stop, make sure you get on the right one.

Carrier Dome: Not too many bad seats in the dome, they sell alcohol until the end of halftime or 3rd quarter, and there is no air conditioning

If I'm staying in New York City, would you recommend getting there as early as possible on Saturday? Will bars be open and packed by about 9am?

Yes, I'd leave early to drive up, especially if the game is at noon. Takes about 4 1/2 hrs if I remember right

Planning on leaving at like 4am from the city. Then staying for a couple of hours after the game too.

Hey CuseTiger... I'm a '93 Cuse grad who mostly sticks to the Saints board... great post... brings back some memories. Haven't been back in a while but did Acropolis wind up closing? I know it's a Greek place but they had the best wings on Marshall Street, for my money.

Glad to have more cuse people around . Acropolis was still open, looks like theyre still around. My favorite was the varsity, cant beat the pizza up in the northeast. You should've come up for this game, nice time of year to head up.

I went to Varsity for Pizza, and Acropolis for Wings. You'd laugh (also possibly vomit) if I described what Chucks was like in my day.

I'm guessing it was still the same as when I was there . The food was pretty good, forget what the deal was mid week but pitchers were around $1 and same with burgers

Probably not. I've only been back once, in 2006, and it was totally different. For one thing, in 1993 Chuck's was all below street level. You went down a flight of steps and it was basically the basement level below another bar (called SUTTER'S MILL at the time... log cabin/log mill theme). Now it's one big space with high ceilings instead of a crappy piss smelling dungeon with 6 and a half foot ceilings.

That sounds miserable, I probably wouldn't have gone to chucks if that was the case. Faegans was my go to for flip night, so much free beer

We wouldn't have gone either but as younguns it was one of the few bars you could reliably sneak into without a bad fake ID and buy beer. In order they were 1) Sutter's (which actually advertised that they let 18 year olds in my freshman year up until the cops shut that down) 2) Chuck's and 3) 44's

Feagen's was staffed by Nazis. Very tough to sneak in there. But we always tried because, well yeah... Flip Night

Maggie's too.

@TigerNE

You know anyone else driving out there from Boston? I just moved to Cambridge and would prefer not to make the roundtrip by myself.

Turning Stone Casino is a client of mine so I go up there every year. Great hotel and great restaurants. The steakhouse on the roof is a wow and the Italian restaurant is great. Fo r a romantic dinner, Wildflower is a home run. Stay in the Tower rooms if possible. A little more but worth it.

ATVS just posted a visitor's guide as well, it overlaps nicely with the OP. Gonna cross reference both frequently this week.

Thanks for all the info, CuseTiger and others.

For anyone staying at Turning Stone I would highly recommending sneaking in a round of golf at the courses located at the resort. Pretty pricey but absolutely gorgeous.

As for food and drink, I would second the recommendation of Empire Brewery. Terrific food and nice atmosphere. As for Dinosaur Bar-B-Q....it is the best food in Syracuse, bar none. However, the place is crowded enough on a normal weekend I cannot even fathom how packed it will be for this game. A normal big basketball game (Georgetown, Nova, Duke, etc) wait times look around an hour and a half.

Have a good time everyone and let me know if I can help answer any more questions.

I live in Cambridge, too.

Damn. I've got no suggestions other than the obvious — there's a Boston alum group that was kicking around the idea of doing something for the game.
