Vacation Ideas??

I have a week of vacation I have to use 12-7 to 12-13... looking for ideas for a solo trip... out of Gulfport, mobile, or New Orleans... no passport.... I would prefer a warmer climate... any suggestions?? TIA

I think you can make up your own mind based on your criteria and flying in middle December... your "warm weather" options are extremely limited without a passport... so you have Southern California, Hawaii and Florida to choose from (unless you want a more cultural vacation in Arizona or New Mexico).

What are you trying to do and whats your budget? So many options between skiing, mountains, beaches, road trips, week in NY or Chicago, etc.

Don't really have anything particular in mind just need to burn vacation.. budget is under 5k and i was trying to avoid skiing... at this point it sounds like key west is the popular choice

Maybe because I live here but I'd prefer BVI.
Winter time in KW is nice. It's often in the 70's so it's no great beach, snorkeling, or swimming weather. Too much wind for fishing lots of the time. It's good sitting on the porch beer drinking weather so it doesn't have much if on NOLA except there barely any crime. The food and drink in NOLA is far better.

I was going to suggest cancun as it's only $263 for your dates, but no passport. Ft. Lauderdale is pretty cheap, how about there? Could venture down to miami as well. $257 on Jetblue out of new orleans

Thanks for all suggestions. I booked a flight to key west this morning I am going to give it a try.
