I own a small business and my wife and I rarely have time to get away. We have twins and they are finally to the age where grand parents can watch them for an extended length of time. I am looking for some ideas for a 5-7 day get away. Nothing beach related...Sometime in mid September. Want to spend as little time traveling to and from location, so direct flight out of Houston or New Orleans would be great! Any suggestions? $2-$3k budget.

That's tough to do with any significant flight. What kind of vacation are you thinking?

Not to be a homer, but the northeast in September is really great. Late September is when all the leaves are changing.
