So the girlfriend and I will be traveling in mid December to that area of the country for a couple of nights and was looking for some recommendations. I wanted to go see a Nashville predators game so we were thinking of splitting up the trip by staying a night in Chattanooga, then staying a night in Nashville for the game, and then going spend a couple of nights in Asheville before going back home. Any ideas for any of those towns would be appreciated.

Here's a tip, buy a map.

You're going to drive in the middle to Chattanooga, then drive 2 hours Northwest to Nashville, and then drive 6 hours East?

Why not just start in Nashville, drive 2 hours Southeast to Chattanooga, then drive 3ish hours East to Asheville?

I would think Nashville would have enough to fill the whole trip without driving for 6 hours.

I was in Asheville this past May. Brewery after Brewery, which was good for a guys trip, but I'm not exactly pumped to go back. But I know some people are diehards for it.

The only predators game is on a Saturday and we are leaving Friday morning is why.

And to the next guy we've both been to Nashville a bunch of times.

Biltmore is worth the trip while in Asheville. There are a ton of microbrews there that are really good as well.

For food, do brunch at Biscuit Heads. it will stuff you until dinner

North Carolina just plan on eating. Barbecue and Biscuits with Gravy, etc. Find a Mom and Pop Restaurant that has Eggs, Grits, Country Ham, Potatoes, Liver Mush, Biscuits and Gravy, etc. Then do not plan on eating for about a week after that. I found a place called Rick's Country Store and they had Biscuits the size of Softball's and two were on a Platter with Gravy over them. That was just the Biscuits!

Biltmore Estate is supposed to be decorated really nice during the Christmas season. Take the tour. Worth the price.

Why are you going through Chattanooga? It's quicker to go through Knoxville to Asheville.

Go to the Grove Park Inn. Built in the Arts & Crafts style/era, non hotel guest are encouraged to visit. It's something like you'd see out west. Huge boulders and timber. There's a bar in the lobby and you can sit by the 10ft tall fireplaces (which they throw huge logs into) and order flights of Asheville beers. It has great mountain views, a restaurant, a spa and is also decorated awesome for Christmas. My wife and I visit at least once a year.
