I have family members coming to visit this weekend and was wondering what all outdoor activities do y'all enjoy near the Houston area? I was hoping to do something different than the typical eating and drinking your way through town. I have only been here a couple months so any advice or hidden gems would be greatly appreciated. TIA

Could you get tickets to the Astros/Red Sox? Depending on the dates you're in Houston.

I live close to the Galleria but driving 30+ minutes won't be an issue.

If you're looking for something active, you can always access Memorial Park.

For something a bit more laid back- the Spring Creek Greenway in North Houston is different and something of a hidden gem in a city this large.

If it dries up, check out the Renaissance Festival. It’s a cool and unique thing to see.

Museum District has lots to offer as well.

That, or the Monument/Battleship in LaPorte and grub at Monument Inn. The Kemah Boardwalk. The Acquarium downtown. Galvatraz with a trip across the ferry to Crystal Beach.
