Going there this weekend with the wife and could use some help on what sites to take in.

King Street is the obvious answer here. I also enjoyed walking through the Historic District - beautiful part of the city.
You can also go sailing if it's a nice day.

Depends on what you are interested in.
The houses along the battery are beautiful, and some are open for tours. There are also a ton of very old churches in town.
If you are into history, Ft. Sumter and Ft. Moultrie are nice places to visit. You can go see the Hundley submarine ad then visit the graves of the crew at Magnolia Cemetery. You can also go to Patriots Point and tour the USS Yorktown aircraft carrier and a couple of other ships.
We love the plantations. Boone Hall is nice, but our favorite is Magnolia. You have missed the peak azalea season, but there is typically something in bloom at Magnolia year round. Be sure to take the house tour and the nature tram. Middleton is supposed to be nice, but we have not gone there yet. Drayton Hall is a very well preserved home built in the 1740s and still very original - no electricity or running water inside.
The aquarium is also pretty nice.
If you don't mind driving about 30 minutes, go out to Wadlamaw and visit the Charleston Tea Plantation. On your way out or back, stop to see the Angel Oak.

Charleston is the reason USCe is my favorite SEC road trip. It will remind you of a clean, safe New Orleans. We were there last year when it was announced that the football game was being moved to BR because of flooding in Columbia. We like to walk along the waterfront and walk the streets of the Garden District style neighborhoods. You can take the boat to Ft. Sumpter where the 1st shots of the Civil War were fired. There are many excellent restaurants there. Some of our favorites are FIG, SNOB, Anson and the Peninsula Grill.

Don't waste money on the carriage tour. Take a guided walking tour instead. Much more informative and you will get to go inside some neat old buildings.

If you don't go eat a duck club sandwich at the Tattooed Moose you are doing it wrong

I enjoyed a carriage tour that we set up through Charleston Place. Guy was a high school history teacher and added a lot of info to tour. Plus was nice to just sit back and listen for an hour.
Great restaurant town: The Ordinary, Leons, Husk, FIG, Butcher and Bee are all fantastic. Proof for great drinks. Home Team BBQ (get the wings and a gamechanger)

Even if you can't get into Husk the bar is worth a trip. Cool setting tons of whiskey and drinks.
Kayak tour if you're into that - the marsh is beautiful. Sullivan's Island nice beach and good food there as well. Helicopter tours of Ft Sumter aren't too pricey. US Yorktown for military history - it's an aircraft carrier in the harbor.

Heading to Charleston on Friday for a bachelor party...the brother of the guy planning it lives there so thinking it will be well put together.
Friday: Drinking at the beach at Sullivan's Island, followed by dinner at MacIntosh. Then heading to Trio.
Saturday:
Morning shark fishing trip in the harbor, getting dropped off at Reds Ice House. Dinner at Leon's Oyster Shed, followed by a King St pub crawl.
I've never been to Charleston so I'm pretty excited about it. Have always wanted to check out the "real deep south", and have a serious soft spot for Southern Belles and their sweet accents. Though I've heard that they very old school down there, and look at Northerners with a certain level of disdain. But I can deal with that.

It isn't that we look to them with disdain, it's just that snowbirds from Pennsylvania and in particular, Ohio, have just flocked here.
Tons of Yankees are attending the College of Charleston as well...and o hate to say it, but they.fricking.SUCK! Rude, loud, no respect...the guys show up to restaurants in tank tops and board shorts...the girls are decked out in Avercrombie and Fitch sweatpants and halter tops.
They just don't "fit in".

So I was really impressed with the area. It resembles a bigger version of key west with the architecture, character, palms, and vibe...though obviously less eccentric. King street is really cool, sullivan's island provides a nice laid back island vibe with a nice beach. We hit home team BBQ out there, and it was good, not great (Mac's Speed Shop in Charlotte was better). In my opinion, you could do a lot worse than to relocate to that area.
Obviously a huge bachelor/bachelorette and tourist destination. My buddy was on bumble and a couple of women asked him if he lived in Charleston right out of the gate. Guessing they know the drill for a lot of guys visiting town
Only thing that sucked is that the tropical depression rolled in saturday morning and it poured for about 18 hours straight. Ruined our saturday plans to shark fish and hit a beach bar.

Young, mostly hot, and looking for a rich guy (preferably southern with old money).
Feel free to correct this is just my take.
