Can anyone provide some insight on how reliable Spirit is out of NOLA? Going to Chicago next month and worried that I will be thrown to the wolves or stranded due to a cancellation.
Are they really that damn bad?

They are really that bad. One of the most miserable expieriences of my life.
I've actually done the Chicago flight and it worked out. They will be delayed. Chances are if you don't have a connection you'll be ok.
If you have to connect with them you're fricked.

I'd be a little concerned about that 6pm, tonight it actually cancelled due to bad tstorms up in chicago. The early morning return should be fine. Routing for your plane is usually iah-ord-msp-dtw-msy-ord so hope for good weather

Get flight in the morning if possible. I understand Spirit may only have a single flight a day on this route. What day of the week is the flight?

Spirit airlines is made for 18 year olds who carry a single backpack and want nothing while traveling.

i had literally zero problems with spirit. I went to chicago RT for 89 bucks and brought a backpack, bottle water, and almonds. I was prepared and it was good

I'm 1-0 with them, Mrs. Fut is 1-0 with them as well.
I'll only use them as a last resort due to the bad PR & the flight I was on looked like a bad Third World bus.

There's a lot of crazy shite you could say that I'd find more believable than this. Not saying you're lying, it is just very rare to hear anyone say they haven't had any issues with Spirit.
