Not sure.

We just flew on Tuesday and I put 6 bottles of wine in my checked luggage, no issue. I assumed we could not get them through security as a carry on.

Mini bottles of alcohol in carry-on must be able to comfortably fit into a single quart-sized bag.

Basically, you are allowed two.

You can bring it through security but it’s technically illegal to consume booze you brought aboard on a flight.

I always bring an empty water bottle and after I pass TSA pour my booze in my water bottle then just mix with whatever I can get from the bar I get my pre-flight beer.

So if I bring some mini Tito's, I'll pick up a beer somewhere and ask for two soda waters with lemon and lime and dump that in my hydro flask that has the titos. Enjoy my beer and Im good to go for the flight.

I can fit 6-8 50ml bottles in a quart size ziploc and have frequently carried that in my backpack through the TSA PRE security.

You're allowed to take alcohol on a flight as long as it under the size limit but it's against the law to fix your own alcoholic beverages on a flight.

The airlines make it very clear it is illegal to consume your own alcohol. I do not remember hearing this pre-COVID era and they repeat it too. It must have became a problem when they were limiting service and certain cabin classes for a while.

Mix into a bottle of Coke before getting on the plane and then pour over ice as needed.

Become ungovernable.

It would be easier for the airlines to list items that are ‘legal’ to do on a flight.

It’s always been on the announcement about smoking in the bathroom and disabling the fire alarm.

This seems like a lot of trouble to save $8.

I always bring 6 mini vodkas in a quart size bag. Stop at store post tsa and get gatorade/topo chico/oj, whatever is available. Drink half then pour vodka in before boarding the plane.

$8? A double Tito’s and soda in most airports is probably closer to $18 than $8.

Nothing about it is really difficult. Whether I buy the drink from the bar or just buy the mixer from the bar, im still pouring it in my cup so the only extra task is packing the bottles in my carry on and then pouring them in my cup.

It all started for me when they stopped selling alcohol on planes and so many of the terminal bars weren’t open. If they start selling it again I’d probably stop and just buy what I want after I board.
