My wife and I will be staying at the Andaz 5th Avenue in New York tomorrow through Sunday. Any recommendations for must eats around that area?

I just got back last week. Can you give an idea on price range/types of food? There's way too many options to not be more specific.

I would say we're more likely to do American, Italian, Greek or Chinese. (Probably that order) Price range can vary....I'm looking for a couple of lunch options and a couple evening. I would say $150/each person for evening meal would be tops.

For dinner, I cannot recommend Le Coucou highly enough. Easily the greatest meal of my life. If you don't go crazy with the drinks, $150/person is more than enough to cover dinner there. Craft is a Tom Colicchio restaurant and is great. Gramercy Tavern is a must.

For lunch, there are tons of great places to choose from. If you want to avoid the crowds but get good Italian food, go to the neighborhood of Nolita (North of Little Italy). More of a Spanish place, but Cosme was insanely good as well.

And if you and your wife like beer, go out to Brooklyn and check out Other Half Brewing and Threes. If you're flying out of LGA, stop by Singlecut Brewery in Queens on your way - it's less than two miles from the airport.

Parker & Quinn for Happy Hour and also for dinner...just stick to their appetrizers and you will be thanking me later. Their seared tuna and charred octopus were killer and we order them the next night we went back for Happy Hour. Also, the eye candy in there was amazing...so much hot poon walking around in groups.

You are steps away from Benjamin Steakhouse and also Benjamin Prime...both solid places.

Bryant Park Grill can be touristy but the food is great, I ate there last summer.

For drinks, checkout the Spyglass Bar on the rooftop of the Archer hotel...this is also a stone's throw from your hotel.

Not necessarily a must eat, but if you're in a hurry, there's a nice food court called Urban Space on Vanderbilt at 45th. There are all types of food in the food court. I had a grilled cheese with lobster there the last time I was in town that was quite tasty.

Also, try Milk Bar for some cereal milk ice cream.

I saw that place last week when we were standing in line for a show and thought "who in the hell would come to New York and go to a Guy Fieri restaurant in Midtown?"

Then I saw the line out the door and thought "This is why I hate Midtown."
