I am Star Alliance Gold with my travels on United. However, I have an upcoming flight on Aeromexico, which is not a member of the Star Alliance. For purposes of the priority line for security only, can I flash my MileagePlus card showing my Gold alliance status and use that line even though this particular flight isn't part of it?

My guess is its all going to depend on the person at the front of the priority line and whether they ask for my boarding pass at that time as well. But curious if others have done it.

It's going to depend. I find that MSY D terminal never has anyone checking. But I was at DFW and the person blocking the Sky Priority lane said it had to say it on the boarding pass when I was traveling on a ticket that wouldn't print it. Despite my status.

Works fine when there's no one checking the line at the entrance or the person checking doesn't care. Lots of times there's a person that will not, with any exceptions or knowledge of FF programs, allow anyone through unless it's verbatim on the BP.

Not really. Some have personnel at entrance to preferred line and a simple "preferred, or a-list" verbally will do the trick. Now some of these line tenders are like nazi's and MUST see your boarding pass. My experience is it's a 50/50 shot.

Yeah my attempt failed today. I tried to casually walk by with my card and they asked to see the boarding pass. I told them my status didn't print on the boarding pass and they pointed me to the other line. Haha. Oh well.
