Headed back to Moscow next week for work for what will be the 5th time since last July. I typically have a day to myself and feel like I've done all the touristy stuff (basically Red Square and surrounding, subway stations, etc). Anyone have any other suggestions?

No .. but they do love them some Trump over there. Seems like I've seen his face on the news and in the papers more than Putin.

Have you been to the flea market at Izmailovski Park? I assume it's still there on weekends. It's 20 acres of booths of handicrafts and art works. Also some impressive military souvenirs.

Also, the WWII museum at Victory Park is impressive. Don't be surprised to learn there that the Soviet Union defeated Germany all by itself.

Second the Izmailovksi Market recommendation.

A bit further out of town is the Arkhangelskoye Palace. Not sure how enjoyable that would be this time of year though since its all outdoors

Tretyakov Gallery is nice if you're an art fan.

Novodevichy Cemetery has some famous graves including Yeltsin. Also a nearby historic convent or monastery you can walk around.

Cool view of the city from Moscow State University.

I cannot remember the name, but I did the old nuclear bunker in Moscow which was cool.

But I have taken a day trip to Sergiev Posad if you like Orthodox churches. (Trinity Lavra was incredible)

I second Moscow State University. Really cool architecture and a great view of the city from on top of the hill. Also a really cool orthodox church just down the street from the university. There's a hike you can do through the woods from the train station on the other side of the river up to the university that i recommend doing to get up there.
