I'll be heading out west in a couple of weeks, and I'm looking for recommendations for easy novice half day rides that would be more scenic than anything else. Basically just a fun way to explore the area without killing myself on technical trails. If it combines some hiking as well even better.

I've done a fair amount of research and it seems the Klondike bluffs section seems to fit my criteria, but I'm hoping a couple people on here have experienced the area, and might provide other ideas.

Any recommendations in terms of restaurants, lodging or other must-do's are welcomed. Tia.

Porcupine ridge is a great trail. Get someone to jeep shuttle to the top. 15 miles of all down hill. Great trail.

I rented a nice Mojo bike from Spider cycles for about $50.

You need a pair of the Merrell Moabs.

Where highway 128 runs along the Colorado River through Moab Canyon, there is a really nice, paved trail that has incredible scenery, and a lot of side trails that go through side canyons along the bike path. If you are looking for something laid back with great scenery, I suggest that.

We camped right off of 128 on the Colorado River, and it was the best camping experience I've ever had. Just amazing stuff.
