Here's the situation y'all: I'm staying very close to Dodger stadium, but I'm getting to LA at 6:30 pm on Friday and flight leaves for home 12:15 pm on Sunday.

So I have very little time, other than going to the game. Suggestions on what I can realistically do or see? I've never been to Los Angeles before but I'd love to hit up a great bar/restaurant and possibly even go to the beach.

Help! Thanks in advance.

LA beaches are trashy and the water is cold. Try the Santa Monica pier if you want some beach time.

What is your mode of transportation?

Find an all you can eat Korean BBQ place in Koreatown for lunch Saturday before the game.
Mikkeller bar is pretty sweet if you like beer. It’s downtown, a few miles from Dodger stadium.

Are you serious? There are some great beaches here. I live on a nice one actually.

Was 66 when I went swimming earlier. Chilly but far from cold.

OP, sounds like you are trying to fit a lot in. Flying into LAX you aren't going to be too far from the beaches, Venice is overrated as frick so skip that. Manhattan, Hermosa are nice and right by LAX but that's only if you have a day to actually hang out at the beach. For a tourist attraction I'd go North and hit Santa Monica just to go.

For a bar to check out I would try something close to Dodgers stadium like Baldoria Bar + Kitchen or for a dive bar The Short Stop. It's been around forever.

Honestly it doesn't seem like you'll have a lot of time to do much. Traffic on the weekend will kill your time and that's especially true by the stadium. I'd stay in walking distance as much as possible

We were in LA 2 weeks ago and some of the beaches were closed. Huntington Beach is one I remember hearing about on the news. The aqua-ducts were sending raw sewage into the Pacific. We went to Santa Monica Pier, it is pretty cool. Learned that the Santa Monica Pier is the western termination point of Route 66.

Take hop on / hop off bus tour. Got about 4 different routes going to different parts of city. We did Beverly Hills one. Best way to see city IMO. Get off eat, sight see, then hop on again

Go to Echo Park for street food and drinks. Great Central American vendors.

This advise is solid. Redondo, Manhattan and Hermosa are damn fine beaches and I would give one of my nuts to have a house there. I like The Fishbar Restaurant in Manhattan Beach. It's located at the end of Rosecrans Blvd near the beach. Like Stout said you don't have much time and traffic there is ridiculous compared to here.

I usually stay in Torrance when I go there for work at our plants in Wilmington. Its a good central location in my opinion but far from Dodger Stadium.

Oh and get ready for $14 beers.

This is the weirdest statement. LA has some pretty damn good beaches, but Santa Monica beach is like the only trashy one.
