Flying out of dfw.

Prices are sky high right now. Flights above $400 and no hotels downtown under $200/night.

Is it always this way? Looking to go mid July. Any tips on when to book or websites you use? I still hope prices will drop on flights

Where are you seeing $400? A quick search on google flights show around $200 for july. Southwest flies out of DAL for $150

Sorry should have clarified looking for nonstop and getting there at a decent time

Southwest were all layovers and 6am or late at night. I'm status with American so it's all I fly. They have tons of daily flights to O'Hare so I'm hoping the price drops

So, why are you asking for help? If nonstop and American is all you'll fly, there's not much anyone here can help you with.

Someone might be able to help with hotels though, unless you only stay at the Hilton and require early check in and late check out. I use credit cards points so I can't really help you there. Good luck

I guess it was more of a question on what sites people use and about how long out for the best deals?

Google flights is my go to. What specific dates or weekend range? Finding some flights for $279 which while not bad could be cheaper

That's a fair question then. I use Google flights to compare airlines and dates. I book direct on the airline's site. 90 days before the flight is usually when I book.

Kayak has a feature that will email you the flight prices daily
