This is so awesome. Japan is probably at top of my travel list. Just such an incredible place. Maybe I'll get there one day

Thanks for the write-up and photos.
My wife went to some of the same places on a month-long exchange program trip. She loved it.
T.R. Reid has a fun book, "Confucius Lives Next Door", about his experience living in Japan with his wife and kids for five years. It's from 1999, so a little dated, but still good.
