Alright, you guys helped me kill it with proposal recommendations. We went to Big Sur and had a great time. We are getting married this summer and waiting until the winter to go on a honeymoon. Would like to go somewhere with a beach between Christmas and New Years.
Any advice would be much appreciated!

Obligatory: Excellence Playa Mujeres
But really, wife and I went there for our honeymoon and we had a fantastic time. I highly recommend it. Not sure what it's like during December, we went in June.

I was thinking this when I read the OP. My gf and I went last summer. Plenty of newlyweds there. Get the room with a rooftop terrace and hottub and you almost don't need to leave the room.
The average temp in December is about 75-82 F. It would feel like a nice spring day here.

We did the Hyatt Ziva in Puerto Vallarta. We really enjoyed it. It's sheltered by cliffs on both sides so no one outside the resort can get in

Help us out: what are you looking to do? What's your budget? Time frame?

We love to travel, so we talked about doing a trip like Thailand, Europe, or Greece, but we don't want to have to make decisions on this trip. Looking for a nice beach destination where all we have to do is drink, eat, and soak up the sun.
Budget wise I will try and pay for as much as possible with cc points. Easily have enough to cover 2 flights and maybe a night or 2 of hotel. Would like to keep hotel costs alone under $2,000 for 5 nights.

Will be here for my honeymoon first week of May and will report back. It just opened this month.
Unico Riviera Maya
We got an ocean front room for 5 nights for $2,900. Rate is all inclusive. I think excursions are included as well for free or a 20% service charge. Reviews so far have been overwhelmingly positive.

We went to Hawaii. I highly recommend Maui and have heard great things about Kauai.

We just wrapped up our honeymoon at cap maison in st Lucia. It was awesome, would highly recommend looking into it. This long arse travel day is being aided with many pitons at the st Lucia airport currently. Breakfast on our rooftop every morning was pretty incredible.

Blue Palace in Elounda, Crete, Greece stay for 3 nights then go to Esperas Hotel in Oía, Santorini, Greece for 3 nights.
It's been 4 years since we did ours and we just booked a trip to go back.

Went to St. Martin and Anguilla for honeymoon 10 years ago using points for airfare and paid for rooms on a similar budget. Prices now and only having 5 days it would be tough to do both but staying on St Martin is doable. Very cool island, half Dutch and half French. Plenty to do and see and/or just chill on incredible beaches. And the beach by the airport is cool to watch planes fly 50ft over the beach
