Has anyone listed the Mayan ruins in Mexico or Belize?

Is it worth seeing in person?

If history and culture interests you then yes.
Odd question.

I enjoyed the ones in Tulum. Worth it if you are down there.

My wife and I rented a car at our resort in Playa del Carmen and drove to Tulum at the advice of an American employee of the resort. We entered the Tulum ruins without a tour group for around $3 per person. Walked around for about an hour and a half then drove to the Garden of Eden cenote on our way home. Paid about half the price of a guided tour and got to do what we wanted on our own time. Great experience.

Yes. My entire family visited Chichen Itza for about half a day while we vacationed in Cancun about 10 years ago. My kids were aged 4 through 10 at the time. It may not have resonated with them, but it was worth it for me.
Pro Tip -- DO NOT eat the ice cream at the gift shop/store there.

I visited Tikal and Cahal Pech last month. They’re pretty cool, but not nearly as worthy a visit as the ATM cave.

I have been to a bunch of them. The best one I have been to is Chitzen Itza. I went years ago when they used to let you climb up to the top of the big pyramid. They don't let you do that anymore......I During a cruise stop in Belize we went to Alton Ha just outside of Belize City. On the same cruise we went to Chachoben near Costa Maya. Tulum is the most beautiful setting, near the water. I recommend going but I like that sort of thing.

I thought the ruins in Belize were Olmec?
Tulum is awesome. A truly wild place in wild jungle setting, on tall cliff overlooking beautiful ocean, lizards and snakes all over the place, so glad their government hadnt tried to turn that shite into disney world.

I have been to Chichen Itza and Uxmal. I actually liked Uxmal better.

Belize has several. We went to Xunantunich. It’s all the way across the country and a beautiful site. Takes a couple of hours to get there from Belize City.

I have been to Uxmal. Very cool. I hired one of the guides there and that was well worth it.
How they got those walls exactly north south east and west and built that wall with a hole in it that the sun shines through perfectly on the equinox I suspect we will never know.

I went to the one near Tulum where you can climb to the top. I got there real early and was the first there and took off on the bike and hauled arse and climbed to the top by myself and chilled out at the top for about 20 minutes before anyone else showed up. Was real cool.

I did both in the early 90's they were great, but I don't know how they have changed today. We were able to climb all over stuff back then.

You are stuck with the pths in Chichen Itza now. Our guide did tell us that if we were willing to stay after hours he could get us up the pyramid and into the chamber for $800. We passed on that one.

$800 may be high but that would be badass. If he threw out $500 I would be in to do that.

Yea, we were able to do the pyramid and the chamber. The chamber was hot and suffocating and packed with people, I almost had a panic attack, that was the only time I have ever felt like that, but I' glad I got to experience it.

I think Tulum is beautiful. We take the excursion there every time I go to Cancun resort because the water is beautiful there and it is a neat hike through the ruins to get to the beach. Have a picture that I took of the beach and ruins just like the one below hanging in our office at home.
