This time we are staying off property. Last two times we stayed on property, got meal plans, etc. I feel all that is a rip-off and we are planning on staying off property this time.

I have booked six nights at Home2Suite (Hilton property) for $115 a night (after a corporate discount). That includes shuttle service to the parks and free breakfast.

Anyone here stay here? Is the shuttles worth it or should I just drive in?

Is there any other off site property I need to look at? Free breakfasts and shuttles are not a must, but are a big plus.

Stay in Windsor hills
Don't use the shuttles at any non-Disney owned

I think parking at the parks is around $40 per day...

Something like that, that's why I'm wondering why Pegasus said don't use non WDW shuttles? The hotel has a shuttle of its own.

IIRC, the off property hotel shuttles run only a couple times a day (at least the places I've stayed). Might not be a problem for some but I'd personally rather pay for WDW parking so I can come & go as I want.

What about taxis? The property I'm staying at is 1/4 mile from Disney Springs, so a taxi ride cannot be that high

Uber to the Saratoga Springs next to Disney Springs and then you can get anywhere from there on Disney transportation if you want to do it the cheap way lol.

Not technically suppose to do this though, because Disney transport to/from resorts is for Disney resort guests.

Uber/Taxi is an option & might be the best way. I just hate the WDW bus system once you get there.

why not just taxi/uber to the park? Just seems silly to taxi/uber to a bus stop.

We're going May 21-28 and are staying at the Hilton Buena Vista Palace right across from Disney Springs. I'm a Hilton employee and was able to book it months ago under my team member rate. Only reason why I'm telling you all of this is because the shuttles there run like they do when staying on property. The hotel we are staying at isn't a Disney owned hotel. I wouldn't think the Home2 will be a Disney hotel either. The shuttle service may be scheduled at odd times only departing and returning at certain times of the day. I stayed at a Hampton only a couple miles from Universal last year with a free shuttle service. We ended up just getting a Lyft there and back because the shuttle only left the hotel at 9:00 A.M. and 11:00 A.M. and returned at 5:00 P.M. and like 7:00 or 8:00 P.M. Not to mention you had to schedule the shuttle the day before. Just seemed too much of a hassle in my opinion.

went to Disney last summer and stayed at the Sheraton. UBER to the park (bc i wasnt waking up at 6 am for a ride) was 10 bucks. college kid drove me and wasnt a bad ride at all.

ETA: they have a designated spot near the front for UBER too. The ride is more comfortable than the bus or shuttle plus it takes you straight to your hotel, no other stops

Home2Suites is a Hilton property and is right next door to the place you are staying.

Didn't realize it was that close. The shuttles may run the same as our hotel even though it's not considered a Disney property.

That is going to be one hell of a busy time to go with Pandora opening the last week of may. Prayers sent! But I am secretly very envious of your trip! Enjoy!

He seems really hung up on money is why I suggested it. Uber/taxi to the different parks farther away like can add a good bit of money to the trip especially if you try to get ubers during busy times.

That hotel is not as close as it sounds in his post to Disney Springs, would be a lot easier to just uber to the parks except at peak times.

Why not just stay onsite at one of the low-end Disney hotels, they are equivalent to a Comfort Inn and you don't have to worry about the parking/ transportation...

We've done that the last two times we went. Even the low tier resorts are $150+ a night.

I am thinking using the shuttles to the parks and taxis/Uber back.

The low end Disney hotels are garbage. We usually find a house or condo to rent nearby and drive. It's $20 a day to park at any park. You can leave and come back all you want.

We went over Mardi Gras week. Stayed at the Yacht Club. Walked to Epcot and Hollywood, bus ran every 10 min to Magic and Animal Kingdoms. We ate every night in a different country in Epcot, then watched the Epcot fireworks show from our room balcony. The pool at the Yacht Club was like a water park with a lazy river, 150 foot slide, and a sandy beach area.

It was worth every dime. We will stay at the Yacht Club or Beach Club every time from now on.

The reason I like staying WDW is that I don't have to drive anywhere.
