We will only be there a day. We are visiting 3-4 countries in that part of Europe in a span of about 8 days.

I am not sure of transportation yet since I still need to do more research on the city. I assume some sort of public transport.

Thanks for the advice.

Colognes Cathedral
-Main attraction of Cologne. The Cathedral of St. Peter and St. Mary, is a masterpiece of High Gothic architecture. One of the largest cathedrals in Europe, it was started in 1248 and is considered the most ambitious building project of the Middle Ages.

St. Gereon's Church
The Cologne Cable Car
-great view of Rhine river
Old Town Hall
-oldest public building in Germany
St. Pantaleon Church
Altenberg Cathedral
Augustusburg and Falkenlust Palaces
-little bit outside cologne in town of Bruhl once home of archbishop of Cologne

That's not much time at all for that much countries/ traveling. I can't help specific, but I would do a couple "touristy" things and then try and do some local German stuff. That time of year they probably have some good winter traditions going on. Enjoy some good beer and local food. You can easily overdue yourself in that amount of time and see a lot but not enjoy much.

Christmas Market there is top notch!

Go to a Bundesliga soccer at Rhein Energie Stadion. 1. FC Koln are actually quite good.

Put a love lock on the Hohenzollern bridge

Go to Fruh am Dom and get tanked on Kolsch (beer)

All the above, enjoy, it will probably be damp & cold & certainly long nights.

Make sure you have weatherproof clothes, headgear & footwear.

Prost!

Yeah I was worried about that. We are spending a whole day in each country, arriving early and departing late. It should be enough just to take in a few sites, hopefully.

Thanks for your other info too.

We will be there the first week in December. We are hitting the Christmas market and the cathedral. We will be day tripping while we are in the area.
