Use Uber or a taxi? From airport to downtown and possibly to restaurants.

Honestly, take the L everywhere. It's typically faster, easier, and cheaper than taking an Uber.

There's a train that goes straight from O'Hare to downtown. Takes about 30 minutes if I remember correctly.

Someone who lives in Chicago may come to this thread and disagree with me, in which case take their advice. But when I was last there, I took the L for most of the trip and it was fine.

Take the L everywhere, especially from the airport. For getting around downtown, I really liked the bike shares when the weather was nice.

when i went for green bay game rented a car for the trip up to wisconsin. so i cant comment on airport-hotel, hotel-airport other than traffic isn't great.

used uber and lyft. no issues getting around town. don't think any rides were more than $15-20. lots of stuff in river north district in walkable distances.

Was just in Chicago this weekend... it was HOT. Actually didn't take the L the entire trip. just ubered everywhere. also before leaving the airport buy you a bottle of water... was stuck on the interstate and almost passed out.

Yep, but you'll probably have to switch trains when you get to the Loop depending on where downtown you're going. Taxi/Uber from O'Hare could easily take over an hour.

Blue line from Ohare

Orange from Midway.

Both lead you into the loop. From there you can get anywhere.
