We're flying EVA Air to the Philippines next weekend and pretty stoked about trying EVA. Complimentary alcohol in Economy, two checked bags at no additional cost, the food gets real good reviews. Outside of having three seats in our row it all sounds pretty nice.

Anyone flown them before or flying them soon and have any questions I can look into for you?

Flew with them to Taiwan a couple years ago. The food was excellent for an airplane. We also got lucky on a half empty flight, everyone in our group got a row to himself to sprawl out

No...LAX to Tapai, then on to Cebu Philippines.

I hope we get some cancellations. Our flight looks real full. When I booked our tickets I reserved the middle seat and the window seat for each leg. Since then I've been battling piriformis syndrome pretty bad and I need to stand up and walk around ALOT. I was hoping I could have swapped over to an aisle seat but there is nothing available.

Eva runs really high load factors. Here at Chicago they have been 90% despite beginning in Nov.

They will sell low fares to fill inventory so expect a full flight. From everything I've heard it's a very nice onboard experience and nearly all flight attendants speak passable English at a minimum.

I'm taking the Houston to Taiwan flight in a few months. 16.5 hours, can go 17+.

I would be ecstatic if the flight is less than full.

Flown with them several times from here back to the US. One of my favorite airlines. Very good safety record, nice planes, great legroom and service.

You might get one of the Hello Kitty jets, which actually looks pretty cool.

I have enjoyed my experiences on EVA. If you have a long layover (4+ hours) in Taipei, I would recommend taking the high speed rail into the city. Depending on when you're there, you could visit a cool night market, go to Ximending (the hip area), or visit the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall.

I've actually got like 5 hours in Taipei before heading back to LAX. 2:05 - 7:20 pm
