What exactly are you wanting to do hike wise? Casual hike?

I've hiked a lot out west, but I've never hiked above 12,000 feet. I am fit, but I live in Birmingham, so a low lander.
We will be getting into Denver around 11 am on Wednesday, and we will be leaving that following Monday. I will be skiing for at least a day and a half I'd imagine. The rest of that time I want to hike.
I'd love to summit a 13er or a 14er-that is the ideal objective, but the consensus is that that isn't a good idea considering the amount of snowfall the winter has seen. I have no problem buying/renting snowshoes and poles while I am out there.
I'd settle for some trails that just gave me some great views of the front range, though.

My recommendation..Loveland Pass and hike up Mount Sniktau and Mount Cupid. These peaks are pretty well windswept and easy access to and from. Decent pavement parking at the top of the pass. The views from these peaks are great. Smack dab in front of Grays and Torreys Peaks. I would not go further than Cupid as Grizzly Peak D carries a lot of cornices and there’s a ton of elevation gain to get to there.
Sniktau alone is 1500 ft gained and approximately four miles round trip.
Cupid alone is about the same.
You’ll also summit UN 12,936. Once in the summit of 12,936 you go left for Sniktau and right for Cupid.
I’ll be there next week if you want anymore details. I’ve hiked these three hundreds of times for acclimation. It’s as easy as it gets.

You're the man. Thank you. That sounds pretty damn close to what I am looking for, and Loveland Pass is only about an hour from where my buddy lives.

I’ll also say if..huge if..there’s no snow are hardly any on the route Grizzly Peak is a bit more challenging and a helluva lot of fun. A lot of elevation gain for Grizz.
Another one that’s decently easy is Colorado Mines Peak and Mount Flora off Berthoud Pass near Winter Park.

My memory of Mount Flora is confined to stopping at The Dairy King in Empire for a burger fries and shake afterwards. That’s a very beautiful area and all those switchbacks are fun for flatlanders.

I guess I've been pretty close to Mount Flora, when I hiked up to St. Mary's Glacier? That is a beautiful area. I am a flatlander, but I am kind of a beast when it comes to hiking uphill.

Yep! You were close. You were heading up James Peak which is about four miles away.

I partial to South Arapaho Peak. It’s a 13’er and provides great scenery, great views, and fun scramble at the end...even can see a glacier.
Books recommend 8 hrs but you can do in 5 hrs if in reasonable shape.
Really outstanding hike.
