Is it worth taking a day trip from Spain to Morocco? I only planned on hitting Barcelona and Madrid, but could add Seville and take a day to go to Morocco. Also, is Morocco considered "safe" I know my dad and sister enjoyed it and said they felt safe, but that was 5 years ago and a lot has changed since then.

Honestly, no. You'd be better off enjoying Spain and hitting Morocco on a different trip.

I lived in Cadiz for a year and I still didn't get to do everything I wanted to in Spain.

well they did have a muzzie terror attack on a beachfront Hotel property in 2015. Wait that was Tunisia. Morocco had the bombings in 2003 in casablanca. It is a majority muzzie country.

Are you just going to Tangier? I'd definitely be up for that if I was in southern Spain. Or do you plan on going further in maybe extending it to more than a day? Marrakesh? Casablanca?

Nah just Tangier to cross the Strait of Gibraltar. I really just want to go to the markets and look sight see a little. One of my travel goals is to go to every continent, and my GF has no desire to go to any African country except Egypt, which is too unstable for my taste right now, so a day in Morocco was a compromise. I know terrorism can happen anywhere that wasn't really worrying me, I was more concerned if they were "friendly" to Americans.

I bet morocco is awesome. I'd probably save it for another trip so you can fully experience it.

Go for it. I would want to spend more time in southern spain personally but if u wanna say u were in africa do it. Arcos de frontiere and rondo worth the trip. Muslim history and architecture prevalent in southern spain.

Heading to Cadiz later this year.

What were your top 5 places in that area?

Cadiz vs Seville like comparing champagne with stale soda. Seville being the champagne. Cadiz has sherry tours if u like that kind of thing. Also has horse farm tours nearby. Drive to arcos or Ronda. Imo Cadiz not worth the time if u don't have to be there for some other reason. The view of the canyon in Ronda impressive

I'd definitely go. I've always wanted to check out Fez. Although a Muslim country, I believe they are more tolerant than others. Be prudent and restrained and you should have no issues.
