Croatia Yacht Week 2017

Anyone else planning to participate in Yacht Week this year? My friend and I have just signed up for week 27. Any previous yacht weekers with tips or just stories about the experience?

It looks amazing.
We were on St Martin in 2015 during the week of the Heineken Regatta. Obviously a different event as they were racing but the talent there that week was incredible.

Went 2 years ago. Go with a big group. By far, one of the best trips. Be ready to party.

I'm not entirely sure how it worked, but I had a buddy who skippered for that.

Friend went a few years ago, the stories he told me were unbelievable, but apparently yacht week is insane.

It seems that all you really hear are very positive reviews. The only negative reviews I've seen were written by people who came across as very high maintenance and the type of person who becomes miserable with no AC in 75F weather or with having to use a hand-pumped toilet.

I went on the Croatia route a couple years ago. as long as you are with a good group that has a party mentality, you will be fine.
The only issues I remember hearing about are from people that truly didn't understand what the week was going to be. It's like going to Mardi Gras and complaining about a wild party

Looks like my options for IAH->SPU are either through Amsterdam or Munich. I'll have a week prior to YW to kill. Thinking about doing Munich, sight-seeing there, and catching a train to Zurich to do some hiking. Any alternative suggestions?
