Was about to book 5 day on Triumph and saw the Dawn offers a 5 day.

Anyone here sailed on the Dawn?

Any info would be appreciated

I have not sailed on the Dawn. I did however take an Alaskan cruise in July and found that cruisecritic.com had a wealth of information on my particular cruise.

There is a wealth of information on EVERY cruise ship. Definitely more feedback there than on this board. You can ask questions there also.

Guy's burgers are good

Also smuggle your hooch!

Cruise compete is a good source for good deals.

I've been on the Triumph. It's a nice ship. A little dated but they keep it very nice and clean. Guy's Burgers is so damn good I might would go with Carnival just for that. They also have a Chipotle type burrito place that is also very good.

Carnival tends to be a tad more enjoyable than NCL in my opinion, however the Triumph is recently refurbished.

I've sailed on the Dawn twice. The nightlife on it sucks. They had one club open after 10 and it was only a rap dj playing current rb and rap. Carnival is much better with night life and having options. Like piano bars, jazz bars, country music etc.

On Dawn the food was better if you paid extra for it, the standard options on the Triumph and Dream and even Fantasy were better.

Getting on and off carnival ships is a lot easier too, I think NOLA has a deal to make it easier for Carnival passengers and harder for everyone else.

We sailed on the Dawn in Feb..7 day
Boarding was easy
Service was great
Food was ok
Specialty restaurants were really good
4 ports
Ship was clean but dated... Just refurbed though
We had the free alcohol package... And I got my $$$'s worth
I'd go again for the price we paid

It isn't free. They just add it into the price of the cruise and you get to choose what "perk" you want when you book. Look at the price compared to Carnival which does not offer these perks. You are paying for that drink package. We did this on Celebrity but it didn't feel like we were paying for it because the cruise line is so much nicer than Carnival or NCL or Royal so I felt the extra money went to a much nicer experience with a much better group of people on board. The drinks were nice, too. lol But I know that I really paid for them.
