Anyone have a recommendations for what to get into this coming weekend 5/19 - 5/22?

Work sending me up for training this week but I'm staying up to take it all in.

Also trying to spend Friday night in Banff, any recommendations for that area welcome too.

Banff is fricking beautiful. Go see lake louise. That's about all I have, aside from banff Ave brewing co. Poutine is on point.

I found Calgary to be very boring. We went to some high rise that had nice views and a glass floor that jutted out. Sorry, but the name escapes me. I'll look it up.

Banff is in my top 5 places I've been. Most people love Lake Louise but Moraine Lake was my favorite spot.

I wouldn't recommend the hotel we stayed at in Banff. It was outdated and not clean enough for me. Again, the name escapes me. I'll see if I can find it so you can avoid it. It's been a few years since we went and my husband planned this trip so the details are elusive.

I'll get back to you with more details.

LINK / Good times this weekend if you ski. Otherwise there is a saloon in Banff with great elk burgers and in Calgary not much that could compete with the Rockies. Lake Louise and the glacier parkway are beautiful always.

Okay in Calgary we went to the Calgary Tower for the views.

Lake Louise, Moraine Lake and Columbia Icefield were some of the highlights of our trip. We went in August though when it was much warmer than May.

Hotel was Inns of Banff. Avoid this place! I loved the small town of Banff. It was very easy to walk from one end of the main street to the other for shopping and restaurants.

I wasn't too impressed by Calgary, but some of the most beautiful sites I have seen (been to a lot of U.S. national parks) were in Banff National Park. The town of Banff was charming, if you like tourist towns in the mountains (I do). We stayed at Fox Inn and Suites. The best part was Lake Loiuse, Moraine Lake, and the Columbia Icefield Parkway though, like the other poster(s) said. Lake Louise is a little town with an amazing Fairmont hotel and the lake, but Moraine is not far away either. You can take some souped up bus out onto a glacier too farther north up the Columbia Icefield Parkway, but it is a good ride. Worth it if going to Jasper, but a good click up, if not.
