Any experiences using United Miles to purchase Merchandise rewards?

I have gotten myself in a situation where I have way too many points (due to credit card rewards) than I can use. So I decided I'd order a watch with the points. Now it is saying that the shipping time is 3-4 weeks. Just ridiculous.
