Road trip

I’ve never been to Austin, so cannot decide. Would teenagers have more fun in SA or Austin for two days?

They’re a little over an hour apart. I’d do a day in each. There’s probably more for them to enjoy in Austin.

Regardless of which one you choose I’d throw in a day trip to New Braunfels to float the Comal and/or to check out Schlitterbahn. They’ll probably remember that the most

What is there to do for teens in Austin? Thinking of going myself this summer and wasn't sure about it with teen/young adults

New Braunsfels is inbetween... isn't round rock north of austin?

Lake Travis etc.

Lots of different options to fill up 2 days in that area

Austin without a doubt. I’d take a teenager to Austin 3 or 4 times for a weekend before I tried SA

Visit some homeless compounds.
Attend some LGBQ+ rallies.
Score some meth/fentanyl

Seriously though (kind of)...

-Barton Springs Pool is a kind of cool hangout.
-Rent kayaks/paddle boards at Zilker Park.
-Austin Bats -- get there early and stay on top of the bridge for the best view. Then walk down to any of the restaurants in the immediate vicinity.
-Dinner at the Oasis (if your kids are into Selfies and social media 'look at me' opportunities, don't go for the food only).
-Kalahari in Round Rock is a pretty popular spot for Teenagers this time of year.
-COTA Karting (super fast electric carts at Circuit of the Americas track, must make reservations on the weekend) These cars are a blast.

Agree to tubing in New Braunfels and Schlitterbahn.

I actually think SA is more teenage-friendly. Fiesta Texas, Sea World, The Riverwalk and Alamo.

Check out Dripping Springs for stargazing.

Austin. Take them out on the water for standup paddle boarding. Easy, enjoyable way to kill a few hours in Austin. Teens would love it. Google paddle boarding in Austin to see images. It's quite popular here.

Agree with rec of 1 day in each.
We loved this. LINK

Natural Bridge Caverns link.

The Mission Trail including the Alamo and all the other missions is very good goo.
