15-20 days in 1 European Country, what do you choose?

So I see a lot of people going to certain cities for 2-3 days, however, I am curious what cities/countries would you visit for half a month or longer.
Part of this is prompted by the fact I was told you could do everything in Belgium in 5 days yet I did not see everything I wanted and had a blast of the city.
I'm looking into more European travel and looking to do 15-24 days at a time, but doing 1 country and visiting various places in that particular country.

Doing 15 in Italy in 2 weeks. Still missing out on Lake Como, Amalfi and all of Sicily

We're doing less than 24 hrs in Venice. Most time is Cinque Terre, Countryside and Rome

I did 2 days last summer and that was enough to see a lot of stuff. I wanted to do a few things more but it isn't enough for me to go back and spend multiple days.

Easy answer for me. There is only one country I have spent two to three weeks in at a time and that is Italy. Great cities such as Venice, Florence and Rome, spectacular coastal areas such as the Amalfi Coast and the Cinque Terre, the beautiful lake region in the north, and the hill towns of Tuscany. You will never run out of things to do or see there.

I have not been there yet but I want to go to France. Hopefully some day!

Spain (5 very distinct regions with their own favors, foods, customs)
Germany: I did 10 days in Germany just along the Moselle River and Bavaria and even that was way too short.

When I retire, I hope to rent an apartment anywhere in Italy and stay for 2 or 3 months every year. I've spent two weeks at a time just in one area or city such as Rome, Florence or along the coast. If not Italy, then Spain would be second.

I could easily do Munich, Germany with the access to the alps.
If you have a car, somewhere in the Alps would be amazing as you could explore all the smaller towns and hike or ski.
As said many places in Italy.
Paris is a no brainier.
I think Berlin would be fun or Amsterdam. You would be 2-3 hours from train from both of those to a bunch of Northern European cities you could day trip to.
There's a difference between how many days it takes to hit all the big tourist areas and just being able to enjoy the local culture longer term.

Italy, for the reasons mentioned, then France...stayed a week in one small town in the south of France and had a great, relaxing time visiting the sights in Provence

Yep, it's Spain.
Did France, England, Italy twice... Switzerland, Austria did Germany, Scotland, Ireland...
Spain...the food, the sites, the booze, the women.
So much history, so much contemporary fun.
That's a place worth striving to live there.
