Has anyone encountered this virus yet? I have a user that can't follow directions and has clicked on an infected file. The virus deletes files and encrypts copies of them while asking for a "ransom" to unlock them. I've tried to recover the files with Data Recovery Pro but haven't had any luck. I don't have any good backups from the last 6 months for this user because she has somehow disabled the backup program.

Does anyone know of a product that will decrypt these documents?

Zepto is a variant of Locky. No known decryption method. Unfortunately you either pay or lose the files. Maybe he will learn his lesson.

She's behind the virus. You're welcome.

Pull the drive and set it aside.

Clean install on a new drive.

...wait and hope it gets broken so you can decrypt in the future.
