all i want to do is share a video but the second my phone goes to sleep it stops playing on the tv.

horseshite. youtube doesn't do this, nor does anything i cast in other apps.

fix yo shite google. i'm constantly having to touch the screen on the phone the whole time the damn thing is playing to keep it from stopping and if i walk away and my phone goes to sleep i have to put in a damn code first then restart the video.

stupid broken arse feature.

eta this is *NOT* casting the phone screen FYI. its using the cast-icon thats in google photos.

Are you using naptime or any doze apps that are killing it during screen off?

Same here. No clue why they can't make casting like the YouTube app. I send them feedback on it at least once a week to no avail

Tony Fadell advised them to do it that way.

Don't have this problem on the Apple TV and iCloud photo stream. Works great. We also have Chrome cast. But I've not tried casting photos using that.

I use Google Photos to backup pics and videos on my iPhone. Google Photos is one of the best apps I've come across for thr iPhone. The feature set is amazing.
