Why do songs on my iPhone 6 seem to have different volumes?

Never had this problem with my 4s. I have to turn the volume up full blast to be able to hear some songs as well as I can hear other songs with the volume about 70% up.
Is there some setting I've got to fix?

Not every song is mastered to the same volume. In fact mastering songs with the intention of them being played through portable devices has ruined the dynamics of modern music.

Not sure what format your music is in, but if they are mp3's, you can use mp3gain. It's free and will make every song the same volume. I'm sure there are other programs that will do the same for different formats.

There is a "leveling" app that will level the volume of all your music so that amount of volume for each song is the same.

True. To the OP: Get the masterbater app through the app store and it will fix the volume fluctuations.

I've used MediaMonkey on my laptop for many years. Their gold version (which you can get for free) includes Auto-Conversion and Leveling. I never can plug the windows software enough, and there's an Android version. Don't know about iOS.

Why do you guys want to kill the dynamic range of your music?

Because when I'm playing music while tailgaiting, I'd rather start a play list and not have to touch anything for the rest of the day. When you music comes from different sources (ripped by different people using different software), you tend to have a song that you can barely hear, so you turn up the volume, followed by a song that is loud as shite, so you have to lower the volume. People start to bitch if you're not adjusting the volume to every song quick enough.
